Born in Toledo, Ohio, Jean’s artistic
talents were acknowledged at an early age, and cultivated at the Toledo Museum
of Art School, which she attended in her hometown of Toledo, Ohio.
After receiving a Bachelors of Arts
degree from the University of Toledo, and an additional degree in Fashion
Design from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City, Jean put her
talents and education together and grew to become a successful fashion
designer, designing a contemporary sportswear line under her own label… Jean H.
During her twelve years as a fashion
designer, Jean continued to cultivate her love of drawing at the Art Students
League of New York.
Now retired from the fashion business,
Jean is happily raising her two children, Amanda and Andrew with her husband
Joe in South Salem, New York.
Jean began studying colored pencil
techniques with Richard Kennerson and later Alan Reingold at the Westchester
Center for the Arts in 1998. Jean has received her
certificate in Botanical Illustration from the New York Botanical Gardens,
where she has been studying since 2004. She has exhibited her art in various
venues throughout New York City and Weschester County.
